Medicine is evolving more and more towards personalized and minimally invasive treatments specifically tailored to individual patient. Herein, imaging plays an increasingly important role, both in the diagnostic setting as well as for image-guided therapies. Rapid technological advances in assistive technologies, surgical navigation and robotics further fuel the development of this field. With the advent of the MITeC hybrid OR’s, the Radboudumc has established a leading role as an international reference site in integrating imaging into treatment modalities.
With MAGIC, we aim to develop innovative image-guided interventions and bring these technologies to the patient. Our research is centered around the use of imaging and assistive technologies to develop novel image-guided treatment strategies or optimize existing ones, and covers a broad spectrum: from pre-operative imaging and planning, to intraoperative imaging and navigation up to treatment evaluation and follow-up imaging. We are active in four main focus areas: radionuclear interventions, Interventions and Innovation for Prostate Cancer, image-guided interventions for oncology and imaging and assistive technology.
